Welcome Back
Hello everyone and welcome to what is set to be a brilliant year of learning! I hope all our families got plenty of rest and relaxation in, after what was a challenging year for everyone.
Positive Start
The past two days have been wonderful; our students have returned to their routines remarkably well, and there is a sense of calmness and productivity everywhere we look. Even our new Foundation students (who missed out on transition at the end of last year) have settled into their groups with impressive confidence. Congratulations to everyone and what a fantastic start to the year.
Changes in Staff
After we had announced Wendy’s retirement, I let our community know about our new Assistant Principal - Keir Jasper. Keir will be writing in next week’s newsletter, but I wanted to again welcome him to our school community. Even though we have only been back a short time, Keir has already shown he is going to be a highly valued member of our school-community, with incredible experience in leadership, literacy and play-based learning.
I would also like to welcome Carlos and Jacqui, two new aides who have accompanied Keir from their previous school to join our staff. We are sure you will love working with our students, staff and community!
A big welcome back to Lori, who has returned after a year of leave, to lead our Grade 3 team.
Hannah’s Health
Thank you to all those who have continued to check in on my health. I am pleased to announce that I have finished my treatment and my last scan came back all-clear. I have returned to work full-time and intend to stick around for a fair bit longer - though perhaps with a better work-life-balance.
New Look Newsletter
You will notice our newsletter is looking slightly different this year. One of our goals for the year is to improve how we communicate with families and we have taken on feedback about the structure and length of the newsletter. We hope you find the new approach easier to navigate and quicker to find the information you are looking for.
