A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

It was wonderful to welcome our families back to our school last Thursday for the Presentation of Awards Assembly. Thank you for following our COVID safe plan. Congratulations to all the students who received awards. For those who missed out, keep working hard and focusing on your learning. It is an important life skill to bounce back when we face disappointments, so I encourage you to keep doing your best at all times.

Congratulations to our new Leaders for 2021.

School Captains : Ella Jamieson & William Bartholomew

Prefects: Monique Hutton & Chase Slade

I know it was a shock to many families to hear our beloved priest Fr Vic has been transferred to Moree. I would like to thank Fr Vic for being such a wonderful role model for us all. His kind and caring nature and the positive way he interacts with the students will be greatly missed. We wish Fr Vic and Fr Tuan all the best for their move to Moree. We welcome Fr Vince Amaro from Gunnedah to our school and parish community in the New Year.

Mrs Rheinberger has many more beautiful photos in the Focus on Learning and the General News sections of this newsletter. ENJOY!

This Friday we have our special Graduation Mass for our Year 6 students at 9.30am in St Brigid’s Church. We hope the parents of Year 6 students can attend.

This week parents are invited to a Parent Teacher Conference to discuss your child's progress. If you haven’t booked your interview slot yet, please get onto COMPASS and go to the Community tab and scroll down to Conferences and you will see the times your teacher is available. This conference can give you a wonderful insight into your child’s academic performance, work attitude and social abilities. Michael Grose founder of Parenting Ideas has many insightful tips to help parents prepare for this meeting.  If you go to this parentingideas.com.au link  I hope you find the article "Insightful Parent-Teacher Conference Questions" useful.

Have a happy week
