Numeracy Update

Hello Parents/Guardians,

I hope you are well and staying safe. Throughout this period of Remote and Flexible Learning, you have been assisting your child at home with their learning. At times, you may have had your child ask for assistance in a specific curriculum area or on topics which you may be unsure of. This may include the curriculum area of Mathematics. 

To assist you in supporting your child at home in mathematics and numeracy, the Department of Education has created the ‘Birth to Level 10 Numeracy Guide’. Inside this resource, you will find a section called ‘Numeracy at Home’ where you will discover topics including:

• Busting some common mathematical myths
• How can I help build my child’s numeracy?
• Helping with homework
• Fun numeracy activities to share at home with your child
• Additional ideas, activities and support
