Term 3 Week 8 Kevin Kennedy

Dear Parents and Carers,

Sports Day

Organisation for next week’s Sports Day is complete. From a competition perspective there will be little difference to that of previous years. As I have mentioned previously COVID19 restrictions means parents and family members will not be able to be on site. The school is unable to manage such a large volume of visitors and will not be able to meet the COVID19 protocols. We will endeavour to take photos of the day to be shared with families.

2021

It is hard to believe but we are well into our planning for next year. Our predicted numbers for next year are similar to this year so we are expecting to have the same amount of classes.  We will be welcoming 40 new reception students next year, which is exciting. However it is the last year we will be having year 7’s at West Beach Primary, so a little sad at the same time.  

Early next term staff will begin looking at class placements . We are hopeful that with our stable enrolment numbers we will be able to release the placement information prior to the summer holidays. A form detailing the process and asking for parent and carer comment will be sent home next term.

Term 4 Hats

Please be aware that hats are to be worn for all outdoor activities in Term 4, this includes recess and lunch play. Hats are available to be purchased from the front office until the end of Term 3. From Term 4 hats and bags will be sold by Westside Schoolwear. Don't forget to label all items as we have a lot of lost property without names.

Absentees

We have updated our Absentee system. The front office now have the capacity to notify families of student absentees via SMS. If you receive this message please respond by calling the school.
