LIBRARY NEWS

This Week in the Library

Welcome to week ten, we’ve made it to the end of term 3!  It’s been a busy term with much of the focus being on learning about non-fiction, ebooks and reading the Children’s Book of the Year shortlisted books.

This week we are reading our final Children's Book Council of Australia Books of the Year and choosing our favourites ahead of the ‘real’ judging in week 2 of next term. Some of these books include ‘I Need a Parrot’ by Chris McKimmie & ‘Three’ by Stephen Michael King.

Last week Kindergarten created a scene from ‘Bat v Poss’ and loved recalling all the Australian animals found within the book. Their colouring, cutting and general engagement with picture books have come so far this year which is a reflection of all their own and teachers hard work.

Thank You!

Thank you to all the families who placed an order with Scholastic for term 3 this year, the library receives a credit for each sale that we then use to purchase more resources for everyone to enjoy. We really appreciate your support of this program.

Holiday Reading - SORA

Don’t forget that not only is your child able to borrow books from our library to read during the holidays, but they can also use the Armidale Catholic School’s digital library (called SORA) too.  To access SORA you can download the app or go through the HTS website here.

SORA APP - select a school account, add a library, search for Armidale Catholic Schools, enter in your child’s student username. The username is the student’s name before the email domain (ie: jsmith, jsmith20, NOT the full email address)

Your child also has access to Storybox Library which our students LOVE. You can access this site here and the username is: htsinverell , password: Inverell2360

Coming Soon

Hold onto your library bags, looks what’s on their way in the next month! Keep an eye out for these sequels to much-loved series in the library.

Skater  Book

So often Mady would ask me if we had any books about skateboarding and I finally found one!

Last, but Not Least - Overdue Books

If you’re still looking for any overdue books, don't worry, they have a funny habit of turning up when you least expect them and even in strange places, so I really appreciate all efforts to find them. If you have any queries about overdue books or think your child may have returned them, please contact me on library@holytrinity.nsw.edu.au .

Have a great break, see you in Term 4.
