“Let your Light Shine” - Matthew 5:16

How will you live this statement through your leadership role?

When I hear "Let your light shine" I think push past limits everyone has a special talent or dream they want to achieve but are too scared to push past their limits and let their light shine.

Bonny Cortese, College Captain - Cranbourne

What do you see as your role as a leader?

The role of a good leader is to be a positive figure and share the thoughts and concerns of students. I aim to be someone who can support students and make them feel valued and respected.

What is one of the positives about being a student at St. Peter's College?

I love the sense of community that we have at the College, because although it is a relatively big school the staff know us and care. There are also opportunities for other connections throughout the school, making it one big community. Overall, the students are really supportive and I love being able to smile at someone and have them smile back.

Who is the one person you admire most and why?

My mum, and my Papa. They taught me the value of hard work and also the importance of having fun. They told me “People won’t always remember what you did, but how you made them feel.”

What are your goals as Captain in 2023?

St. Peter’s College has provided me with wonderful opportunities and experiences for growth throughout my time and I would love to have a role in creating these experiences for others. I believe that the school can continue to grow through listening to the students' concerns, so that it becomes a place that they too are proud of. I would love to see more student involvement in the variety of school activities St. Peter’s College has to offer. I would hope to have contributed to the St. Peter’s College community and atmosphere by having motivated students to try something they usually wouldn’t.

“Let your Light Shine” - Matthew 5:16

How will you live this statement through your leadership role?

In our opening school mass, Fr Joseph spoke about letting your light shine not being about having the center of attention but instead allowing your light to guide others and help them to shine.
