Family Eucharistic Workshop
Last Wednesday night, the Year Four students gathered to begin their preparation for their First Eucharist. The night was based around imaginative prayer and was split into four parts; Encounter, Imagine, Discuss and Contemplate.
The night was run by Carlie Anderson, a past parishioner from the St John’s Parish. The students and parents encountered the Lord’s Supper Gospel story from Mark and then were invited to lie on the floor and imagine what a meal with Jesus would be like. In small groups, with a facilitator, students and parents were asked to discuss what they had imagined using prompting questions.
Finally, Carlie invited everyone to contemplate their night with a discussion around how they could reflect on what they had experienced. It was a great start to the preparation for First Eucharist and I thank all the parents and students who were able to attend.
