The school is buzzing at the moment with lots of activities for the children and some for the parents as well, including the Prep Dinner last week which I hear was very well attended. An exciting event is  coming up soon for the whole family so read on to find out more!

P&F MEETING - THIS WEDNESDAY 8th MARCH in the Multipurpose Room @ 7:30pm

Everyone is invited to our first meeting of the year next week...a little later than normal but letter late than never! 

The P&F is always grateful for new energy, new people, new ideas, creative solutions and a helping hand. The P&F will always benefit from whatever time you are able and willing to offer. The Committee is made up of a diverse parent group – many who work and study and others who stay at home – all who share a common desire to want to give something towards a community that supports their children. The meeting is always an informal and friendly gathering where upcoming events are discussed, and ideas are shared. It's a great way to meet people from across the school and to learn how you can become involved whether with just very small tasks or larger tasks. Since Covid attendance has been very low at meetings and this year we will really need people coming along on a regular basis to gradually get to know how things work behind the scenes to result in great fundraisers and great events for our children and families continuing.

 A very big thank you to the awesome Grade 5 P&F Event Team- Claire Doherty, Emma Rodda-Hopkins, Ash Vienna, Deb Vukic and April Warfield for all their hard work and planning so far for this event.

EMERALD BAKERY PIES/HOT CROSS BUNS FUNDRAISER

The very popular Pie and Hot Cross Bun Fundraiser is back in time for Easter. We are once again selling a variety of hot cross buns and family pies including quiches and dessert pies in time for Easter this year.We order our pies/hot cross buns from the Emerald Village Bakery - if you haven't been able to get there yourself, this is your opportunity to try the amazing food that they sell! The dessert pies and chicken and leak pies are a hit! So do yourself and your families a favour and grab some delicious bakery items for our St James fundraiser. Prices have gone up like everything everywhere but are still comparable to other bakeries.

All orders will be delivered in the last week of term.  

Pick up will be from the school on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th April, with more details to follow. 

Orders are due by Friday 24th March!

After a discussion with our footy loving principal Dave Mutimer, a big thanks goes to Dylan Dipierdomenico who has set up this St James Footy Tipping Competition for all the Families in the school to join! It is free to join and some prizes will be announced by Round 5.

FOOD DAY THANKS!

A very big thanks to the 9 very hardworking volunteers who helped on Friday busily packing and delivering lunches to almost 300 children. Thanks to Penny Conduit, Emily Bent, Chandika Soccio, Mary Brockhoff, Kylie McMahon, Deb Vukic, Katrina Van Vuuren, Melissa Mackellin and Mihoko Kuroda for helping me on what was a busy morning. Your help is much appreciated!

The next Food Day will be in the last week of term.

VISION PORTRAITS- at the school on SUNDAY 19th MARCH

There are still about 8 spots left for a portrait sitting for your family with Vision portraits. This year they will be offered outside onsite at St James on SUNDAY 19th MARCH. It's a great opportunity to update your family photos as well as contribute to the school's fundraising.

SPONSORSHIP and DONATIONS

This year we have two generous volunteers, Jason Barrie (Neve- Yr 3) and Natalie Lim (Lachlan Yr 3, Emma- Prep) coordinating the sourcing and collection of donations for our raffles and auctions and sponsorship for large events, but we would really like another 1 or 2 people to help with this. The P&F has an extensive list of previous donors and sponsors and all the letters/certificates you need to help with approaching businesses. If you are not able to help in this way, we are always looking for great items, experiences, and services we can use as raffle or auction prizes and in turn promote businesses.  If you have a business, you would like to donate from or promote or have contacts with local businesses who might like to donate and advertise with us please contact Jason (jbarrie@atlasbroker.com.au / 0421 566 346 , Natalie or Kylie on the P&F email.
