Year 10 Meet and Greet

Parents/carers and students are invited to the Year 10 Meet and Greet Afternoon on Wednesday 1 March 2023, 2.30pm - 3.15pm in the Performance Centre. Leading teachers will cover the Year 10 structure, Year 10 certificate details, Pathways and Careers.

Year 10 Careers Experience

We encourage all Year 10 students to begin exploring any potential opportunities and finalise arrangements as soon as possible!

Year 10 Career Interviews (MIPs) 2023

The Careers Team is now meeting with Year 10 students for a Career Interview referred to as MIPs (Managed Individual Pathways). MIPs interviews may cover:

Future pathway options - VCE / VCE-VM (Applied Learning)
Subject selections for Year 11 and 12,
Possible future Tertiary course requirements,
Possible future VET / Apprenticeship requirements
A discussion around each student's Career Action Plan, and
Confirmation regarding Careers Experience placement arrangements.

Prior to this appointment, students should:

Find their Morrisby Profile Report from 2022.
Review Results and Feedback to date.
Discuss their thoughts, ideas, goals and aspirations with their family and ask for feedback.
Check their timetable on Compass and make sure they come prepared for their interview when it is scheduled.
If a student needs to reschedule their time, please ask them to speak to someone in the Careers Centre prior to the day or contact the Careers Centre at the College by phone or email or through MSTeams. For some students, their MIPs appointment may not occur until late next term.

On the day of this appointment, students should:

Advise their teacher at the start of the lesson that they have a Career Interview and enquire which missed tasks may need to be completed.
Watch the time and respectfully excuse themselves from class, allowing enough time to walk to the Careers Office in the Senior Centre.
Bring their Morrisby Profile Report from 2022.

Year 12 Special Exam Arrangements

Parents, please contact Jonathan Tennent, Positive Climate for Learning (Jonathan.Tennent@education.vic.gov.au) if you wish your student to apply for Special Exam Arrangements. If your student has previously had special exam arrangements in place from last year, please still get in touch with Mr Tennent so that we can re-activate your arrangements.

The closing date is April 6th.
