Vermont Secondary College

Ensembles

The Rookie Band and Junior Strings Orchestra are now up and running and join the rest of the Music Programs weekly rehearsal itinerary. We've been so impressed so far this year with the attendance and commitment of our students who have been showing up to before and after school rehearsals in the lead up to our annual Autumn Concert held on May 11th.

Well done to all our Music students!

ANZAC Day

This year, in keeping with tradition, Vermont Secondary College will take part in the ANZAC Day ceremony in Ringwood and will also rejoin the Commemoration in Melbourne this year.

Ringwood March -

On Sunday April 23rd, our Symphonic Band will march lead by Ms. Barkla from the corner of New/Seymour Streets, Ringwood- (Ringwood Square).

At 10.00 am the March will commence. The Band will proceed East along the Maroondah Highway, turning right into Railway Place opposite Melbourne Street and then continue around Railway Place to the Memorial Clock Tower.

At the Memorial Clock Tower the VSC Marching Band will conduct the Memorial Service and wreath laying, performing the National Anthems of Australia and New Zealand. After the service, students and parents are invited to the Ringwood RSL Sub-Branch at 16 Station St, Ringwood VIC 3134, for refreshments. Students will be dismissed from the RSL.

Melbourne March -

On Tuesday April 25th, the band will meet Mr. Mizzi and Ms. Barkla at Vermont Secondary College in the Music Centre where they will catch a bus into the CBD to assemble outside Saint Pauls Cathedral (Flinders/Swanston Sts).

They will then march along St. Kilda road to the Shrine of Remembrance. Students will then return to be dismissed from Vermont Secondary College.

Parents are encouraged to come along and support the students as they represent the school in commemorating the ANZAC's.

The Brass Soiree

TUESDAY 21st MARCH

VSC THEATRE

6:00 - 7:00pm

We are hosting our annual Brass Soiree in the Vermont Secondary College Theatre on Tuesday, 21st of March.

This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and friends of the college to come and see some informal performances of our students who have been working hard throughout the beginning of the year.

The Brass Soiree includes all students learning Tuba, Euphonium, Trombone, French Horn and Trumpet.

This is a free event and we encourage all parents, staff and the college community to come along and support our students on their first official performance of the year.
