Assistant Principal

Mr. Joshua Simpson

Term one is well and truly in full swing will a number of exciting events under way.

On Monday the 20th or February the school hosted the Parent Teacher Conferences and the Meet the Teacher evening. Over the evening parents and families sat with staff to discuss their child’s learning journey and expectations for 2023. It was fantastic to see the many discussions that were occurring over the night. During the intermission, families were invited to mingle with staff and attend the evenings BBQ as well enjoy some musical entertainment provided by our talented students. Thank you to all that attended the wonderful evening, and thank you to all the staff and students who helped make the night what it was.

Our next major school event will be coming up on Monday the 14th or March, the Annual Discovery Evening. The Discovery Evening will run from 5pm – 8pm and display all the many incredible things that our school and staff offer at LSC. It will be an opportunity to new students and families to gain a glimpse at what students will be complete, participating in and achieving when they attend Lalor Secondary College, as well as ask any questions that may be wondered about the College. All families and friends are welcome, and we look forward to seeing you there.

School photos are fast approaching and will be occurring on Monday the 6th of March. We ask that all students attend the school day in their full formal summer uniform. If students have sport that day, they will be given an opportunity to change during that session.

The school athletics carnival will be occurring on Friday the 10th of March. This is always a personal favourite on the calendar for myself and I am sure for many other students and staff. Student sign-ups for events will be occurring soon. All students are encouraged to participate in a number of events. All the best of luck to Bradman house, I think this could be our year!

Finally, the year 7 camp will be running from Wednesday March 1st to Friday March 3rd. The camp is an incredible experience for our students who have the opportunity to participate in things that may not have the chance to otherwise, such as rock climbing, abseiling and billy cart building. Student will be able to build and create friendships that may last the rest of their lives. I am looking forward to visiting the camp and seeing/hearing about what they have been getting up to.
