Year Advisers Reports
Years 8, 10 & 12
Welcome back Year 8, it sounds crazy even saying Year 8, as last year absolutely flew by. Welcome to Phase 2 of my master plan in shaping you into even better humans than you already are (not sure how this will be possible because you're already are so amazing!).
I love seeing the reaction when you realise that I will continue to be your Year Adviser for this year, and every year after that until you are in Year 12, even though I have told you this from day 1.
It sounds like you all have had a fantastic break and I have loved hearing about your holiday stories. It seemed as though a lot happened in your lives but it's great to see you all well rested and ready for another big year and term ahead of us. With new Year 7's taking your place it has been nice seeing you all be role models to them and helping them out whenever they need, as I bet you remember how scared and nervous you were this time last year.
We have hit the ground running this term, and already it feels like we have been back for weeks and weeks. We started off with our Swimming Carnival down at Gosford Pool. I loved seeing you all compete, and it made me so proud seeing you get in the pool and give it a go, even if you weren't doing it competitively.
Many of you dressed in house colours and it was great watching you get up and dance and enjoy the day hanging out with friends and eating many lollies and ice-creams at all hours of the day. We then had our school photos, where you all came looking your absolute best and with a big cheesy grin. If you compare this years photo to lasts years, you will be able to tell just how much you have all grown up in what is such a short time in your high school career.
I am looking forward to what 2023 has in store for us, and remember, these years at school will fly by and you will one day you will wish you were back here (I know it doesn't seem like it but you will). So take each day as it comes, try your very best to get amazing grades, and enjoy your time in Year 8.

Year 8 Adviser
Welcome back, to the Class of 2023, to your final few terms of secondary school! It may feel like a long thirteen years to get to this point, but this last chapter will go by very quickly. I hope all students had time to reflect and plan over the holidays to ensure they can avoid the perils of procrastination, while also allowing for important down time to recharge and refocus. They also needed this time to recover from our awesome three days at Life Ready Camp at the Tea Gardens, Great Aussie Bush Camp. The students were so brilliant that their instructors said that they were the best group that they’ve ever had!
Well done to all students who have added to their busy loads with extra events over the last five weeks. This includes the Valentine’s Day fundraising with beautiful serenades given all around the school, participating in their last school swimming carnival, trekking Mount Kosciuszko on the Geography excursion, and having their final student photos taken.
Special mentions must go to Alex McGavin, Jessica Hayward, and Lachlan Knowles, who have been involved in the Lions Youth of the Year program. All three have made it through to the second round, with the support and mentoring of Mr Ardley, and we are both very excited to watch them present again soon.
I am in the process of booking our school formal and Bunnings BBQ fundraising, so watch this space for those dates and locations to be confirmed. This year is going to go by very quickly and be full of lots of exciting social events to compensate for the stressful times, so bring on the fun!
