She squealed with excitement, gripping her bouquet hard in one hand and Brandon in the other as they walked, slowly, through the sand, over to the flower petal-covered candlelit walkway. Tessa took a deep breath and slipped off the flip-flops she had been rocking all day just to run around the island. Brandon did the same, and they stepped, barefoot, onto the path, following the bright blue petals–no coincidence there–around the corner.
As soon as they had turned it, Tessa knew she had to look up. Hell, she wanted to. But she couldn’t. She knew what was there… Or rather, who was there. And she knew he looked incredible and beautiful and gorgeous, and that he was staring at her, hard, with those twinkling blue eyes that could probably cure cancer if they concentrated hard enough.
Of course he was. He was always there. When she needed him, when she was feeling the slightest bit of unhappiness or discomfort, for whatever reason. He was always there. Smiling at her, making her weak in the knees. She could feel his smile on her skin. That was how strong it was.
I have to look up… I have to see him. My groom… My freaking husband!
Tessa lifted her eyes, and all of the breath left her lungs, in one single sweep.
