Performance Poet - Steven Herrick

On Monday the Year 8's were treated to a performance by verse novelist Steven Herrick.  He was very funny and made poetry come to life.  Hopefully he has created a love for verse and inspired students to write a poem or two or read one of his many books.

Steven Herrick is a poet who can come up with anything off the top of his head and make it funny.  He is a really enthusiastic person who can make anybody laugh.  He likes to travel from country to country to do live poetry performances.  

Steven has twenty-two books with his poems in them and if I could I would borrow every single book he has.  I am looking forward to reading his poems as every poem he said made me crack up!  Not all of Steven's poems rhyme for he doesn't really like to make rhyming poems.

His favourite place to go to is Sweden for he loves the cold.  I hope that he can come back so I can hear more of his amazing poetry!

Steven Herrick is a poetry writer.  His poems are very well thought out and very funny.  He has also written books.  Most of his books are in the library.  He is a really motivational poet as he makes his poems fun and can make up poems on the spot.  He has written over twenty books which are mostly novels written in poetry form, and most of the poems don't rhyme.

He travels to different countries to perform his poems like Malaysia, Singapore, Sweden and he also performs in pubs.  Stevens favourite country is Sweden because he likes the cold.  I really think Steven should come back so we can hear more of his poems.
