Thailand Cultural Exchange

JMSS Exchange to Thailand

I was fortunate to be able to accompany a party of JMSS students and staff to Thailand’s premier science specialist school, Mahidol Wittayanusorn School, from January 21st to 31st this year.

Ms Maxine Rofe and I travelled with Year 12 students Rajan Venkatraman, Aditya Kaushal, Emily Kuo, Adam Blight and Jacob Bull, and Year 11 students Laurene Colin, Victoria Benson-Heap and Tia Vella.

The main purpose of the visit was to take part in the school’s annual science fair, and our students did us proud with their wonderful project presentations, both verbally to eager audiences and to many national and international visitors in the poster sessions. Rajan and Aditya presented their project at the Opening Ceremony to great acclaim.

Our students were also fortunate to be able to spend time staying with their Thai buddies and seeing some of the wonderful cultural and historical sites. It was a magnificent experience for all, and I would warmly encourage students to think about applying for next year’s exchange.

We look forward to the return of the Thai team to JMSS in late April.
