Excursions and Travel

Camps, Excursions and Activity Fund

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps ensure that no student misses out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities. It is part of making Victoria the Education State and the Government's commitment to breaking the link between a student's background and their achievements.

CSEF will be provided to eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

The annual CSEF amount per student is $225 for secondary school students. You can find out more on the Department's website and you can download a form here.

V/Line update

V/Line has been experiencing disruptions across the network over the past couple of weeks due to additional maintenance requirements on our VLocity fleet.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause but we will not compromise on the safety of our staff and customers.

With school returning, we thought it was important to update you and your school community on V/Line’s latest service changes.

Some V/Line services will be replaced with coaches over the coming weeks while our maintenance program continues.

Your students and parents are encouraged to visit vline.com.au to check if their service is running as a train or coach, as they may need to allow extra travel time.

The website is being updated regularly with the latest information and this is a quick and easy way for students to stay informed. Updated information is also available through Twitter and our social media channels.

To allow us to dedicate all efforts to returning train services to normal as quickly as possible, the V/Line timetable adjustment to be introduced on Sunday 31 January will be deferred. The current V/Line train and coach timetable will continue on all lines until further notice.

Once again we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We are making progress and doing everything possible to have train services returned to normal.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at comms@vline.com.au.

As a gesture of goodwill, travel on V/Line trains and coaches is free until last service Sunday 7 February. For further details on free travel go to ptv.vic.gov.au.

We wish you, your staff and students the very best for the start of the new school year.
