CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF

LILYDALE HIGH SCHOOL

100 Years of Lilydale High School

2019 will see us celebrate 100 years of Lilydale High School. Plans have begun to make the centenary celebrations our biggest yet!

As part of our celebrations, we would like to gather information on LHS alumni. If you, or a family member attended Lilydale High School we would love to hear from you to share your school memories.

Any hard copies of photographs, school uniforms, awards, certificates, badges or any other materials we can use for the celebrations, would be gratefully received at the School Office.

THE ARRIVAL AT LILYDALE

16 MAY 1901

(The Argus Newspaper

 Melbourne,  Vic: 1848-1957)

In honour of the Duchess's visit, several

townspeople decorated the Lilydale Station

with greenery, flags, &c. Some time before

the hour appointed for the Royal train to

arrive the station was crowded with people

anxious to get a glimpse of Her Royal Highness.

On the arrival of the train hearty

cheers were given for the Duchess of

Cornwall and York, who appeared on the

platform. Councillor A B Taylor (president

of the Lilydale Shire Council) presented

the Duchess with a beautiful bunch

of flowers, which her Royal Highness

graciously received. Amid much cheering,

the train moved off on the journey to

Healesville.
