Year 10 Central Camp Report - Bradley Cooper

On Monday 30 April, the first buses left for this year's Central Australian Camp! The following days, the next few groups left as well. It was amazing!

We had so much fun seeing and experiencing different places.  For 9 days we got to spend exploring and experiencing the heart of the country with our friends.

The first day we got on the bus at 10:00 am. We spent the day and night sitting (or sleeping) on the bus next to our best friends excited for the next week and a half ahead.

It began with a long haul coach to Coober Pedy and then we were away visiting Camel Farms, Opal Mines and even the Royal Flying Doctors Service.  Riding a camel at a camel farm was a definite highlight. It wasn’t for long, but there was a lot of fun in such a short amount of time.

For me though, the best part of the camp was when we got to visit Kata Tjuta National Park and Kings Canyon. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to go hiking through both of the parks and it was a great way to explore these incredible sites for ourselves. Instead of just driving around it, we hiked through them and got to see these spectacular formations up close and personal.

Each day we were in for an early morning, but getting up early was definitely worth it, given the awesome things we got to see and do.

Every few days we would change campsites, spending the first night at Marla, a few nights at Uluru, Kings Canyon and Alice Springs.

Overall, Year 10 camp to Central Australia was an amazing experience.  We invested 9 days of travelling through South Australia and the Northern Territory, jam packed with days full of activities and in doing so, we’ve created a life time of memories with our friends.
