CURRICULUM

Year 12 students

On Wednesday 26 October, the Year 12 students returned to school bright and early for their English exam; their first external assessment.

Many Performing Arts students, however, had already completed practical examinations in the weeks prior to this, and were seen busily rehearsing their acts.

Throughout the examination period students are encouraged to seek feedback and advice from their teachers in order to improve their outcomes in all subjects. Much improvement can be made in these last few days and weeks and staff and students are working together in an effort to make this happen.

We wish our Year 12’s all the very best as their secondary school education comes to fruition.

Year 11 Examinations

Year 11 Examinations commence on Monday 7 November.

Students are currently completing their Unit 2 curriculum and final School Assessment Coursework (SAC’s) and will soon begin revision for their exams in class.

However, it is imperative that students begin revising at home now, by sorting their notes and rewriting and improving assessment tasks.

Students should also access their teachers to assist them to manage the revision period effectively.

'S' and 'N' Reporting

All students are reminded that in order to receive an ‘S’ on their end of year reports, they must ensure that all work requirements, Common Assessment Tasks and homework are completed.

Indeed, students must demonstrate their effort by coming to class on time with required resources and engage positively in all class work and activities.

Receiving two ‘N’s will necessitate a conference with parents in order to discuss strategies to improve going into next year. To avoid this, students are encouraged to always work to the best of their ability.
