Sharing a love of reading

from daily reading with adults to book week

Our Favourite Books

Throughout Term 3, teachers, the leadership team, learning support officers, and even Mrs Blaney have been visiting Junior classrooms daily to read picture story books to the children.

The opportunity to share books with the younger children has been a delightful experience. Our adult readers engage with the children, and the little ones begin to understand the joy of reading so many people have.  They look forward to these visits, wondering who will be reading to them today!

During Book Week, teachers from the senior school also came downstairs and read with the younger students. The senior children visited last Friday and chose books to read to individuals and small groups. (Some children started reading chapter books.... perhaps thinking they may be able to make this a regular occurrence!)

Our Prep students' first Book Week was a 'dream.' Please look at these fabulous photos of the children wearing their costumes and holding a book representing the story or the character.
