From the Leadership Team

It was wonderful to celebrate the achievements and efforts of so many students at our Semester 1 Academic and Application Award Assembly, with great attendance from families who wanted to share the moment with their child. Who wouldn’t be proud!

Interestingly, a student came up to me straight after the assembly and shared with me that he was so close to receiving an award and that he would 'guarantee' he was going to be up there at the end of the year.

How brilliant. What a goal to strive for.

And just between you and me, I think he will indeed be there at the end of the year.

I hope every student feels the same way.

Being the best we can be and striving to achieve that is all we ask, and that mantra certainly is in every student’s grasp. As I listened to my favourite Podcast over the weekend, Revisionist History by Malcolm Gladwell, he reminded me of a very important point. Malcolm grew up surrounded by clever people. His father was a University Mathes professor and many of the students his father taught were also very clever. What struck Malcolm was that he never heard his father or his students talking about what they knew.... and they clearly knew a lot. What they did talk about was what they were working on and what they were finding out. It seems that the more we know, the more we recognise there is so much more to know. It’s the power of inquiry and the desire to seek answers that truly defines us as 'clever'.

I love that notion of forever asking questions and seeking to improve ourselves and I pray dearly that all staff and students at Endeavour are part of that quest; to be the best they can be and to continually look for answers to the amazing questions education and life throws at us.

Genesis 3:6

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
