Principal's Message

Mr Cameron Jones

What a fortnight we have had at Roselea Public School. In terms of extra curricular and community events, it is definitely our busiest fortnight on our school calendar. I would like to recognise and thank our teachers for the copious amounts of time and effort they put into making these events so successful. From the P&C disco to Education Week open day to the athletics carnival to kindergarten’s first excursion to stage 3 camp this week our team certainly go above and beyond and we are lucky to have them teaching our students at Roselea.

Education week

It was fantastic to see so many community members come for our Education Week open day last Monday. After 3 years where we have not been able to host this event due to COVID, it was great to have so many parents and carers participating in the learning with their children. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to join us. This small act doesn’t go unnoticed by your children, they loved having you in their classroom.

Athletics Carnival

We had a very successful athletics carnival last Tuesday. Students across K-6 participated with great gusto and sportsmanship. Thank you to the team for organising 2 great carnivals and good luck to our zone competitors who will be representing our school on Tuesday 5th September. The note for this event will be coming home this week. Please read this carefully as there has been some changes in the event this year due to the Women’s World Cup.

Stage 3 Camp

This week our stage 3 students are going to camp. This is a great experience for our students as they learn about themselves, their comfort zone and independence. I’m sure you will join me in wishing them all the best. I look forward to joining them on Thursday (however I am hoping there isn’t a giant swing!)

Canteen closed this Friday

Due to Year 1, Year 2, Year 5 and Year 6 all being on excursions this Friday, 11th August the canteen will be closed. Please pack recess and lunch for your child on Friday.

Kaz Scott visit

Last Thursday, we had a visit from Kaz Scott, Chief of Staff, Office of the Secretary of Education. It is always a proud moment to share with others our journey at Roselea. During the visit, we shared with Kaz some of the work that has made a difference for our students over the past few years. Kaz noted the collaborative approach within the school and the collective efficacy displayed by our staff. It was a great way to finish off a busy week at Roselea.

Kindy 2024

We have our first transition to Kindergarten sessions coming up this term. If you have a child starting school this year, please click on the link below to complete the enrolment process.

I would also appreciate you passing this on to other people outside our school community you know who will be coming to Roselea in 2024. For a successful transition to school, these sessions are vital so it would be great if everyone who is coming in 2024 is able to attend.
