Friday 25th August - Student Movie Night - Important Info

Year 2/3 MU Session  3.40-6pm

Please remember to pack a low pillow/cushion and blanket in your school bag on Friday morning. Children attending will be taken directly across to the hall and will be signed in by their teacher. Please pickup your children promptly at 6pm (follow the signs from Owen St to the Multipurpose Hall) so that we can sign out each child and start the next session on time.

 

Year 5/6 SU Session  6.30-8.45pm

Your movie starts at 6.30pm in the Multipurpose Hall. Please be on time with your parent to sign-in and receive your pizza. Don’t forget to bring a low pillow/cushion, a blanket and your full water-bottle. Parents/carers must sign you out at the end of the night at 8.45pm.  

 

If you are no longer going to be able to attend, kindly notify the Office. We hope you have a great night! Thank you to the many parents who have volunteered to help out over the four sessions - we couldn’t run these events without your support!

 

Country Cob Pie Drive - Thank you!

Thank you to all who took part in our fundraising Pie Drive by purchasing pies or helping on the morning. We are delighted to have raised $928.35, such a wonderful result for our school! Our thanks to Ryan and the team from Country Cob Bakery who provided us with their delicious products at a very generous margin, enabling this to be a successful fundraiser for the third year in a row.

 

Father’s Day Brekky - book your FREE Ticket on Qkr!

All Fathers are invited to the PFA Father’s Day Brekky on Friday the 1st of September from 7.45am - 9.00am to celebrate our WPS Dads. Rafael’s Coffee Van will be onsite so you can purchase hot coffee (Please Bring CASH and Clean Keep-Cup!). The PFA will be providing our Dads with a Bacon and Egg roll - so please remember to book your FREE ticket on Qkr! (by 30th Aug at 10am) so we can cater appropriately.

Upcoming Opportunities - Communications Officer and Class Rep Liaison 

The PFA are looking to fill two roles in Term 4, allowing for a full handover and support til the end of ’23. The Class Rep Liaison supports the Class Reps in the running of the Parent WhatsApp Groups. The Communications Officer assists the PFA with writing the newsletter page and notifying our community about upcoming events/fundraisers. If you’d are interested in either of these roles, please get in touch with Monique autumn@iinet.net.au for a chat about what is involved, and how you can provide valuable help to our school parent community!

PFA Meetings: 5th September, 3rd October, 31st October, 5th December. Various locations - 7 for 7.30pm. Everyone is very welcome! Email wpspfa@gmail.com for the month’s meeting location.

 

New Families to Woodend Primary School

Are you new to Woodend Primary School? Did you know we have a Parent Class Contact List and WhatsApp groups for each class, moderated by a volunteer parent Class Representative. These groups enable families to connect and share information with each other, as well distribute reminders from time to time.
