Assistant Principal Report Senior School

By James Cumming

Our senior students have returned to school recharged for a busy term 3. It has been pleasing to see students return in a focused manner towards their studies.

The year 10 and 11 cohorts have begun the course selection process. The year 10 into 11 and year 9 into 10 information evenings were well attended, with important decisions to be made, it was pleasing to see so many students and their families in attendance. Both information evenings were recorded and will be made accessible via compass. Important course selection information will continue to be shared by the year level leaders and pathways team. Thank you to the year level leaders and pathways teams for their hard work planning and delivering course selection for our students.

Our year 12s are now well into their final full term of schooling. As the term continues students will undertake their final assessments of Unit 4 and begin revising for VCAA examinations. I encourage all students to remain organised and focused during term 3, to maximise their opportunities during this important term. Although studies should take a priority, please ensure you take time to participate in activities that are positive for your mental health such as exercise and socialising.

The year 12 VM students have participated in internal job camps during the last two weeks. They have undertaken a range of short course including Responsible Serving of Alcohol, Provide First Aid and Implement Traffic Management Plans. Thank you to Caz Jenkins, Kerri Fulton and the VM and pathway teachers for organising this valuable experience for our students.

I looking forward to seeing our senior students continue with the positive start to term 3.
