Soirees and performance nights
Last term our Instrumental Soiree and Vocal Soiree were huge hits where students performed their solo numbers for family and friends. This term, on Thursday August 17th, our ensembles will be showcasing their songs they have been learning which promises to be a great night of contemporary music selections. This concert starts at 7pm in the school theatre. Tickets are $5 through trybooking.com
VCE Showcase
On Thursday August 31st our VCE Music students will be presenting a selection of pieces from their end of year performance programs. For our Year 12s it is their final opportunity to perform for an audience before their exams in October.
This is open to family and friends, as well as any students in the younger years who are thinking Music Performance is a possible subject choice when in VCE.
Lunchtime Concerts
These will be starting again from Week 3 and will provide a range of instrumental and DJing acts. Great opportunity for our students to get performance practise, build confidence skills and to showcase what they have been rehearsing and developing over the year.
Other opportunities
Athletics Day is approaching on Tuesday August 8th. We will be setting up for a day of music so sign up outside PA 2. Instrumental acts and DJs are welcome to sign up for a spot.
Radio shows will be running again on 88.3 Southern FM. Thursday mornings 8-9am our students will be live running the radio program so if interested come sign up with Miss de Niese in the music office.
Semester 2 intakes are open for students who decide they would like to sign up for instrumental lessons. Come visit Miss de Niese or Ms Holman in the music office.
Looking forward to hearing some more fabulous music performances and seeing more students step out of their comfort zones to perform for larger audiences!
