Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,

"Leader in Me" Open Day

I sincerely thank everyone who attended our Open Day yesterday. We had over 120 people for "The Leader in Me" presentation and many more parents who visited the classrooms and stayed for a lovely picnic lunch on the playground.

What a pleasure it was to talk to families and hear about the positive impact the 7 Habits are having both at school and in homes. Giving our students the strategies to be a leader is so important and we are very committed to providing this lifelong skill.

Thank you to our senior students, teachers, staff and especially Mrs Overton for their leadership in organising our special Open Day. This was such a wonderful event and well supported by our parents.

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Next Tuesday, 15th August we will be celebrating the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On this day we remember the person of Mary and the relationship we have developed with her through the many accounts of our Holy Mother through scripture. We learnt how brave and resilient Mary was as she travelled to Bethlehem with Joseph, giving birth to Jesus in a stable. This connection continues as we hear stories of her relationship with Jesus in the scripture passage of Jesus at the temple, at the wedding at Cana and during Holy Week.

Every day, at midday, all staff and students at Holy Family stop to pray the Angelus, recalling her story and the critical role she played in Christ’s Mission.

Lindfield Art Show and Fair

The students and staff are brimming with excitement with the news that the Lindfield Art Show and Fair, a much-loved event will be held in the coming weeks. Our fabulous P&F and organisers are working hard to ensure a fun time for everyone that attends. The LASF is renowned for being an event that is filled with community spirit, attracting plenty of support from students, past students, families, parents, staff, parishioners, local and business communities.

As this is my first year to experience the LASF, I am excited to be part of this wonderful event however I know that its success relies heavily on the support from everyone in the community to get involved.

Next week we will run a Lindfield Art Show & Fair Special Edition newsletter with loads of information on how you can get involved. This will be a fantastic opportunity to get to know others in our Holy Family community.

Transition to Teams for telephone calls

Commencing in Week 6 the Administration staff will be moving from the normal handheld telephones to answering the phones via Teams on the computer using headsets.  I would ask that you be patient in the first couple of weeks whilst this occurs and if we cut you off, we apologise in advance, as they will still be in the 'learning' phase.  This transition will commence on Monday, August 21st (Week 6).
