Primary Certificate of Merit

Congratulations to the following students who were awarded the Primary School Certificate of Merit for Term Two.

 

Prep

Ariel Ahn for her ability to work well with others, helping in the classroom and for the detail she puts into her work.

 

 

 

Isla Harris for working really hard to improve her reading and spelling. Isla has persevered when she found work tricky and approached all lessons with a positive manner.

 

 

Year 1

Juliet Lahl for putting significant personal and social effort into becoming a participative member of the Year 1 class at Mount Carmel College. It has been so good to see her talking with new friends, trying hard at learning and asking for help when she needs it.

 

Indyana Trost for consistently applying concentration and persistence when learning new knowledge and skills and for being a reliable, helpful and kind member of the Year 1 class.

 

 

Year 2

Olivea Lum for demonstrating a growth mindset and confidence in herself as a learner enabling her to achieve excellent results across the curriculum.

 

 

 

Harrison Rhodes for taking on constructive feedback positively and working with determination to use that feedback to elevate his work..

 

 

 

Year 3

Beatrix Barclay for being a conscientious member of the classroom who is always willing to contribute to lessons by sharing her knowledge with others. She is to be commended for her consistent effort in all learning.

 

 

Anna Thickett for her high achievement and engagement with her learning. Anna is a thoughtful and creative thinker who is always willing to challenge herself and achieves great results.

 

 

Year 4

Chanel Baxter for her kind, compassionate and generous spirit. She is caring and thoughtful towards her others always looking for ways to help and bring joy to those around her.

 

 

Mia Gray for the way she is approaching school; striving for excellence through continued perseverance, her application of taught strategies and her joyfulness towards all of her learning.

 

 

Year 5 Navy

Olivia Creese for achieving a high standard across all curriculum areas and her obliging, courteous and mature manner.

 

 

 

Gracie Kuylaars for her curiosity, motivation and engagement in all areas of the curriculum.

 

 

 

Year 5 White

Aria Rye for her continued effort in making sure she gives herself every chance of success with an outstanding commitment to her schooling.

 

 

 

Emmerson Wiggins for her wonderful approach to her studies this semester and the improvement she has shown in her literacy skills.

 

 

 

Year 6 Navy

Isabella Bomford for the caring, thoughtful and enthusiastic way she approaches all interactions with her teachers and peers. Bella worked exceptionally hard this term and has taken ownership over her learning, embracing new learning experiences and relishing in challenges.

 

Neave Riches for her continuous enthusiastic attitude towards all aspects of school life. Neave is always willing and able to lend a hand to a friend in need. She is a supportive, generous and compassionate member of Year 6.

 

 

Year 6 White

Sadie Stevens for a marvellous attitude to life and learning, and consistent excellence in integrated, creative literacy tasks. 

 

 

 

Hannah Tomlin for working consistently in all learning areas, and especially for a mature and positive attitude to learning and life.

 

 

 


Mary Aikenhead Awards

The Mary Aikenhead Award recognises someone who displays the Gospel values of love, hope, compassion and justice that Mary Aikenhead herself embraced.  

As a College we encourage our students to reflect these values in their daily interactions and we congratulate the following students who were recipients of the award in Term Two.

 

Sophie Halliday - For the virtue of Love

Sophie shows concern and love for all those whom she comes in contact with and is sensitive to the needs of others. Sophie recently ensured our three new students to Year 6 have felt supported and cared for. She has done this by regularly checking in, playing with them at recess and lunch so they are not alone, showing them around the college and helping with learning tasks. The value of love for the Spirit of Mary Aikenhead is shown daily by Sophie.  She is kind, loyal, shows selflessness and sincere care to those around her. Sophie not only lives the Gospel value of Love, she also embodies those of hope, compassion and justice, embraced by Mary Aikenhead. 

 

Freya Nally - For the virtue of Hope

Freya shows the virtue of courage and determination daily, within her attitude and commitment to all aspects of school life. She has a positive can-do attitude which reflects on those around her. Recently at the Year 5/6 Netball Round Robin Freya continuously supported and encouraged her peers. Her attitude towards the game or outcome of the game never changed, she remained determined and supportive of her peers. Freya has shown excellent leadership skills throughout the year, she is regularly looked up to as a leader amongst her peers. Freya not only lives the Gospel value of Hope, she also embodies those of love, justice and compassion, embraced by Mary Aikenhead. 

 

Neave Riches - For the virtue of Love

Throughout the year Neave has worked extremely hard in her role as Primary Leader to ensure the idea of being kind, compassionate, loving and supportive towards all members of the College community is spread. Neave is always prepared to lend a hand to a peer in need. Her willingness to give of herself and to go the extra mile no matter what is asked of her shows the virtue of love. Neave’s commitment, perseverance and generosity make her a worthy nominee of the Mary Aitkenhead award.

 

Gretel Sangwell - For the virtue of Justice

Always putting the needs of others before her own. Gretel is continuously aware of what is right and just throughout her actions with peers and teachers. Gretel is always putting the needs of others before her own. She shows determination towards all academic progress, as well as her commitment to the College. Gretel not only lives the Gospel value of Justice, she also embodies those of hope, love and compassion, embraced by Mary Aikenhead.
