SSPS School Council

Happy March and back to School 2021!  We had our first School Council Meeting for 2021 on 23rd February.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone in the School Council for being amazingly supportive in the past year, which was a very special journey for all of us. I am very proud to have this opportunity to be part of this dedicated team and look forward to collaborating with the school community in 2021 for the development of our school.

In January, we paid a visit to TeamKids during the school holidays. There were over 30 kids on the day. The new set up was nice and creative, and familiar faces of Justine and Angus (our wonderful Carers) were there. We also received a lot of positive feedback from parents regarding their arrangement of the excursion to the cinema. It seemed like the kids were having a good time with TeamKids.

I am also very excited about the Capital Works Funding, and the Asset Management Plan that was submitted to the government in early February as our first step for the project. Thanks to Helen, Rebecca and Richard for their hard work on consolidating all the input and feedback from our parents’ survey, students and teachers. Thanks to our School Council Team for reviewing and ratifying the plan. Together with parents, students and the whole school team, we make an important step towards a better learning experience for our children in the future.

After the school holidays, Finance Subcommittee meeting and Parent’s Association meeting resume back to the routine schedule and we already had our first meetings in February. I am looking forward to our new School Council Team in 2021, which Helen had shared the elections and nomination process with you in February. It is a very rewarding experience on working with School Council, and if you would like to know more, please feel free to contact Helen or me.

Thank you everyone.
