Introducing our School Captains for 2021
School Captains
Hi my name is Navindu, your school captain for 2021 along with Abbie, the other school captain.
We do the assembly where you have to overcome your fear of being in front of the whole school and now we are trying to organise harmony Day and maybe other events as well. We and the SRC Reps can get the ideas that you give us and we can agree on it and make the school a better place. The favourite things I like to do is that I like doing maths and also that I have a lot of intention on the sport I love cricket! I have been having a great time bowling and even got a hat trick but not much in batting though, my friends say that I'm doing great so I'm still trying to be the best I can.
I’m a good sensible boy and I am very much of a musical person at school, I play the cello, if you don't know what it is it's actually, it is just a violin but a bigger version of itself. I put a lot of effort and include others when they feel left out. I, as a school captain, are here to help all the Syndal South students in any way I can. As an example I'm good at Maths, English, Cello and Cricket. If there is any trouble please be comfortable to speak to me.
I want to thank the Principal, Assistant Principal and all my teachers for believing in me. I promise to do my very best and please do apologise if there are any errors or mistakes, and finally I want to thank my parents for all the support they have been giving me. I really appreciate it.

Hello, I am Abbie. I feel very honoured to be chosen as your 2021 school captain alongside Navindu.
When I think about leaders who have inspired me in the past, I think about those who have the courage to share their thoughts and feelings, listen to others opinions and make things happen. I hope this year I can show these qualities too.
Hobbies are some of my favourite activities to do when I am not busy! I love to jump on our olympic quality trampoline. Some of the things I do on this trampoline are flips, rolls, jumps on my back and skits. Another thing I love doing is making artwork, such as drawings paintings and even clay modeling! However that is not all! I also love playing basketball with some of my friends from my old school (Ashburton Primary School) in a team called: Ashy Stars. One of the most important things in my life though is my family and pets! I have a golden retriever called Belle, a tabby rescue cat called Maddie and two small fish called; Salmon and Bufty. Belle is a funny dog when she growls happily, and Maddie is a very cute cat when she purrs at you.
I am a very friendly, funny and unique person. My favourite colours are pastel pink, blue and yellow, and I love any animals! However I also love my friends and playing games like; tag, hide n seek and I even enjoy making games with them!

Vice School Captains
Hi, my name is Jamie and I’m one of the Vice Captains at SSPS together with Dinaya. I am very excited for all of the tasks and responsibilities that I do for 2021.
As a Vice Captain, my jobs include coming to assembly every week to talk about the school wide positive behaviour and putting tokens in bags so that teachers can give them out to students. I also go to the SRC meetings (Student Representative Council), take notes and discuss ideas about school activities. Most of all, I hope to bring some really positive energy to our school.
I am a friendly, generous and attentive student that will always show kindness to others. My favourite subject in school is PE. I love doing tennis, basketball, swimming and making up funny accents for my friends.
Now that you have read this, I hope you know a bit more about me and my job. This will be my last year at SSPS, so I am going to enjoy every moment and opportunity.

Hi, my name is Dinaya and I am one of your Vice School Captains alongside Jamie. I am very excited! I will put effort and heart into the work I do to make this an awesome year for all of us.
Some things I enjoy doing: playing sports, hanging out with my friends, listening to music and playing games. I play tennis, do dancing and swimming out of school. My favourite books are the “Harry Potter” series. My favourite movie is “Twilight”. Some things I like about school are: aerobics and making new friends. My favourite subjects are: P.E. and art. I am friendly, kind and love helping anyone out.
Some of the jobs Jamie and I do as Vice School Captains are: helping out with the “School Wide Positive Behaviour Program”, being part of SRC, talking in assembly every week about the “School Wide Positive Behaviour Program” topic for that week and helping anyone out. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me anytime!
Now that you have read this, you hopefully know a little bit about me. As this is my 7th and last year at SSPS, I hope to make this a happy and fun year for all of us! I can’t wait for the year ahead!
