The School Council is committed to creating a culture of inclusion at OGPS. In order to effect real change in our school community an Inclusion Subcommittee has been formed with the specific aims of;

  • Investigating how we can improve our current levels of knowledge and inclusiveness of our local Indigenous heritage and embrace and embed this within our school community.
  • Investigating how we can improve our current levels of inclusiveness of LGBTIQ members of our community.
  • Learning more about how we can improve our current levels of inclusiveness of people with a disability in our school community.
  • Developing a culturally, racially, religiously and gender inclusive environment.

The Inclusion Subcommittee was formed in August 2020 and is chaired by a member of School Council (currently parent member Miriam Leahy). The subcommittee will meet monthly to discuss and make recommendations to School Council in regards to achieving our stated aims. We sincerely hope to form a Subcommittee of members from a diverse range of people in our school community including parents, carers and students.

We would love to hear your thoughts, ideas, insights and knowledge. Our first meeting for 2021 will be on Thursday 11th March at 7pm Online.
