From the Principal

Open day

With over 800 attendees, last weekend’s Open Day was a resounding success. Invariably, the most positive feedback is attributed to our wonderful students well supported by our staff and parents. It was a great community day.

When speaking to visitors at Open Day, I reinforced our Catholicity and co-education as being fundamental to our College. Applications for places are very high and we will continually review and reflect on the education that is provided at the College.

Dispute and complaint resolution

At enrolment interviews, we often say to prospective students and their families ‘that we believe we are a good school, but we also know we don’t always get it right’. It is important that we hear from families when there are issues of concern so that we can constantly monitor and improve our educational offerings.

Schools often ask teachers to ‘try and catch the kids being good’. Affirmation of good practice is important for students and we are equally delighted when families contact the College to pass on congratulations to teachers and other staff.

Similarly, we welcome feedback when there is dissatisfaction with aspects of our schooling. Sometimes concerns can be easily resolved and on other occasions the College needs to reflect on the issues that are raised and make appropriate changes.

If issues occur at school, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant teacher or staff member. Members of the Primary Leadership Team and the Secondary Leadership Team can also be contacted if the matter pertains to a pastoral or a learning issue. At a suitable juncture, it may also be appropriate to contact the relevant member of the College Leadership Team Mrs Kath Negus (Vice Principal), Ms Antoinette De Pinto (Head of Primary), Mrs Jessica Bouwman (Deputy Principal), John Cumming (Business Manager) or Mr Robert Henderson (Principal).

Our College website also contains details of our ‘Dispute and Complaint Resolution Process’.
