IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Contacting the College in Term 2

A reminder that our Administration Team is working remotely due to the COVID-19 situation. This means that phone contact is currently unavailable during Term 2 2020. Please ensure you contact us via email (surf.coast.sc@edumail.vic.gov.au), website or Facebook messenger. Our Receptionist is regularly monitoring these inboxes and will forward your requests for follow up as appropriate.

Cancellations and Postponing Events

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we have had to cancel or postpone many events:

  • Saltwater Institute Program – this was scheduled for Term 2 but is currently cancelled. Sam Magree will be in contact if there is any chance of this running later in the year if or when things return to ‘normal’
  • College Production - The Addams Family has been postponed until 2021. Students who were part of the cast have been informed. We are looking to arrange a ‘Green Room’ later in Term 3 or 4 and to hold ‘auditions’ remotely via video submissions. Stay tuned for more information on this
  • Year 10 Central Australia Camp - postponed. We have asked about dates later in the year dependent on availability and not overcrowding our Term 3 and 4 schedules also
  • Senior School Formal - cancelled as there is venue hire involved. We could look to reschedule in Term 3 or 4, however we would need to be able to secure a venue
  • Antipodeans Abroad - postponed until 2021 at the same time - have requested responses to queries of families from the company and we are awaiting a reply. We will update families when we hear back
  • All Years 7-12 excursions and incursions in Term 2 have been cancelled

Our Administration Team will contact families when events and activities can commence in 2020.

Year 7 2021 Enrolments

Government primary schools distribute the Transition Information Pack to all parents/carers of Year 6 students. Please note: Secondary schools do not distribute copies of the application for Year 7 Placement forms to families of Year 6 students attending government schools.

Families of Year 6 students at non-government (Catholic and independent) primary schools may contact secondary schools directly for a copy of the Year 7 Placement form and may also submit a copy of the application form directly to their preferred secondary school by the closing date.

A reminder that Surf Coast Secondary College has a designated neighbourhood area (DNA) for enrolments. For more information, please visit the College's website at www.surfcoastsecondarycollege.vic.edu.au

Year 9 Morrisby Interviews - Cancelled

Due to the COVID-19 situation the Morrisby face-to-face interviews were scheduled for April 20-24, but were cancelled. The Department of Education is currently looking at other options for students to participate in their Morrisby “unpacking” interviews. Students who agreed last term to undertake the Morrisby profiling but were absent on the day will be given an opportunity to do the profiling from home in the coming weeks. We will keep you informed about new arrangements for the interviews once a decision has been made.
