From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that all the fathers and significant men in our students’ lives were spoilt over the weekend with the celebration of Father's Day.  Whilst there is a sense of disappointment across our community that we could not gather and celebrate in ways we are accustomed to, there were plenty of opportunities to be grateful for what we’re able to do.  I invite you to over the next few days to take some time with your children and consider this question:

As a family, what were we grateful for over the weekend?

Our Partnership with The Resilience Project

In 2021, St Simon the Apostle Primary school has proudly partnered with The Resilience Project (TRP) to build and develop the important behaviours that help improve mental health and social-emotional literacy.  The awareness building and educative outcomes of this work are designed to help students, parents and school staff work together to receive the impact of the mission of The Resilience Project.

From time to time, the presenters from TRP have community check-ins through a Vlog.

This week I would like to draw your attention to their most recent messages as I think it probably sums up what a lot of us might be going through at the moment.  Be aware the presentation styles of Hugh van Cuylanburg and Martin Heppel are very different but depending on where you find your headspace, I hope there is something of a takeaway message for people in our community.

Check out this link to view the messages.

Footy Colours Day - This week

This Friday, our school community is very excited to be able to celebrate Footy Colours Day as part of Wellbeing Friday.   As a State, we are mourning the loss of the Grand Final at MCG, however, our love for footy continues to power on in households, the backyard and the streets across Rowville.   An amazing Footy Day resource has been developed to help families celebrate and engage with some of the fun.
