Ali Q. - 1/2D

This week, Ali has been working hard on making good choices in class like sitting quietly on the floor and completing his work straight away. His ability to focus has allowed him to complete some wonderful pieces of work. It has also helped him to socialise positively with his peers, in which he has come a long way at doing so. Congratulations Ali – keep up the great work! You’re a star!

Mia H. - 1/2F

Mia is receiving this award for always displaying the HEART values. She has returned to school with a positive attitude and is a good friend to her peers. This week Mia showed the HEART value of Excellence by confidently reading with fluency and retelling the important information in detail. Well done, Mia! Keep up the great work!

Alisha W. - 1/2K

Congratulations Alisha on demonstrating such lovely fluency during reading this week. You add expression, phrasing and pausing at all the right moments to make your reading a delight to listen to! This has been our focus during poetry and you are leading the class by example. Well done!

Emilia-Rose B. - 5/6M

This award goes to Emilia-Rose for the positive attitude she showed during our latest Remote Learning adventure. Emilia-Rose attended nearly all WebEx sessions with her camera turned on and even uploaded a photo of herself on her motor bike in our class stream. Emilia-Rose, it is wonderful to see you so happy and excited about the riding you do at your Grandpa’s farm!

Gemma C. - 5/6W

For her hardworking and positive attitude towards all aspects of her learning. This week in Reading, Gemma wrote a detailed summary of a text and answered a variety of comprehension questions. During our conference, we discussed her work and specific areas that she could improve in. Gemma went straight back to her task and further reflected on her learning and made improvements to her work based on this. Wonderful effort Gemma! I am so proud of you and your hardworking attitude. Keep up the great work!

Chenaya P. - Visual Arts

Students in 1/2 experimented with perspective by drawing a person trying to catch a snowflake in their mouth. Chenaya’s sense of fun and creative thinking was perfectly displayed when she positioned the snowflake on her person’s nose rather than in the mouth. Brilliant work Chenaya!

Joel P. - Visual Arts

Students in 5/6 created steam punk animals using recycled materials. Joel used a variety of materials to create the base for his echidna and added texture by layering buttons, cogs, toothpicks and foam circles. He worked with patience and care ensuring every area of his sculpture was painted using a dry brushing technique to add the metallic effect. Wow Joel, your effort and diligence resulted in a superb piece of art!

Samuel and Tom B. - Performing Arts

Congratulations to Samuel and Tom  B. for their effort with the Performing Arts Remote Learning Body Percussion Task. It was great to see you working together as a family to play the 3, 4 and 5 combined polyrhythm. Well done!
