Sacramental Program for Secondary School Students

Kedron Parish is looking to support Padua College and Mount Alvernia College students who would like to complete their sacraments of initiation into the Catholic Church. The intention is to have an after-school program that will prepare students for the sacraments of Baptism, Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation. Often First Communion in the Archdiocese is normally around the age of nine (Year 4); however, this program will be adapted to the age of the older students involved. By doing this program the students will be able take a more active part in the celebration of the Eucharist at school and prepare them for a greater connection with the Church community. The parish is seeking an expression of interest in running the program. If you are interested please contact Richard Rogusz, rogur@staff.mta.qld.edu.au, prior to Friday 27 August.

Daggy Jumper Day

Next Wednesday, 25 August, is Daggy Jumper Day in support of Brisbane Youth Service. Brisbane Youth Service provides essential support to young people experiencing homelessness including mental health services. Students are invited to wear a daggy jumper on the day. The jumper is to be brought to school and worn over the College uniform during the school day. Students are not permitted to wear the jumper to and from school. Donations can be made here.

Queensland Children's Hospital Donation Drive

The Queensland Children’s Hospital is seeking donations of the following items to support the young people in their care: art and craft kits, stationery, books for children and young adults, board and card games, bubbles, clothing items and accessories and toiletries.

As you can understand, the hospital has strict hygiene processes. Consequently, all items donated must be new (no pre-loved items). Donations can be left at Reception or Student Services until Monday 30 August.
