Year 12
Students in the VCE stream will be working towards the completion of Outcomes and moving into revision towards their exams in the next couple of weeks. Some of their teachers will be offering classes during the holiday period, although not compulsory, it is strongly advised that students take up these opportunities’. Staff will be offering specific instructions for revision for their students but all who are undertaking exams should be remembering the Success Integrated strategies of working through past exam papers. Firstly, open time/ open book, then moving through removing the open book and restricting time. Exam papers and examiners reports are available on the VCAA website. VCE students will be receiving their official exam timetables and Navigator instruction guide next week.
VCAL students should also be ensuring that they have all their Outcomes covered.
Students have been invited to join committees to assist in the planning of their final official celebrations at the school- End of Year Assembly – October 25th, Valedictory Dinner – November 29th. Further information and invitations will be available next term.
Year 11
Students have completed their subject selection for 2019. Subject blocks are now being aligned to ensure that all students are able to pursue their chosen courses. Work is also underway across the BTA to access to a broad range subjects.
Year 10
As with Year 11, Year 10 students have completed their subject selections. Blockings will be resolved over the next few weeks and re-counselling will take place if required. Students who have selected to undertake a VET course will be contacted by Mrs O’Bree and TAFE.
A group of 15 Year 10 students had the opportunity to attend an ‘empowerme’ day in Bendigo this week. The program was delivered by the Lord Somers Camp/ Powerhouse organization and offered students the opportunity to meet and discuss ideas will students from several other schools. It also gave them leadership and personal development strategies.
All students in Year 10 will attend a Road Smart session at the school next Wednesday, September 12th. The Year 10 Formal has been booked in at The Connection on Thursday 18th October. If students are interested in being part of the organization for the night please see Ms Bentley.
