Message from the Head of Primary

From the Head of Primary - Miss Claire Dalziel

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrew 12:1-2

As we focus on perseverance, we are reminded that not everything we do, will be easy. At times we need to try, try and try again. Sometimes we fail and that’s ok. How we respond in these situations is what matters the most. We may need to, ‘throw off everything that hinders us’ as the bible reminds us. We may need to seek help. We may need to stop. Persevering can bring about great joy, with equal measures of frustration. I tend to think we can stop persevering when we have reached a point where we can be proud of what we have accomplished. Perseverance is not about perfection, rather progress.

Focus of the Week:

Week 5. Kindness

Week 6. Perseverance

Week 7. Gratitude

Thank You

Thank you to our incredible school community for such a wonderful 20th Birthday Celebration. The P & F, parents and staff were amazing and provided such a special afternoon for our children. Thank you!

Communication

Last week we did a soft launch of the Primary Daily Notices on the HUB. I am pleased to see that some parents have already visited the site and are gaining information through this space. The Primary Daily Notices is a section on The Hub where we as a Primary School can share as much information with you as we possibly can about the activities occurring over the week. It’s the place you need to go, to find out what’s on when, where you need to be, when, why and for how long, which uniform to wear and the special activities we have on at school. It is your one stop shop. We will load it up daily with everything you need to know. You just have to go there. We would hope that you visit it every day or two, to touch base with school business. In the same way you might check Facebook, Instagram or your emails, we want you to go to the Hub to check in and find out what’s on. We will send you notifications and upload everything to this space.

Alongside this is where all the Primary Notes are stored. If your child is attending an event, you will be emailed or notified with a link that directs you to Primary Notes. All the relevant Notes are in this folder and accessible to you.

You will also see over the rest of this term an increased use of the Year Level Pages amongst Primary. This is due to be launched in Term Three. Stay Tuned.

How to access Primary Daily Notices

  1. Via the Calrossy App. Clink on Links. Click on Primary Daily Notices.

Digital Reporting

At the conclusion of this term, you will receive your child’s Semester One report. This is a summary of their progress and achievements throughout the first two terms of 2019. For the first time, Primary School reports will be issued digitally via the Parent Portal on The Hub. To access your child’s report, you will need to be able to access The Hub. If you have not already done this, please do so ASAP. Please contact thehub@calrossy.nsw.edu.auif you have lost your username or password or require assistance.

The reports will still look the same and contain the same information. We are looking forward to using the digital platform as this will be able to assist in providing timely and up-to-date information for our families. From now on, you will be able to access all your child’s school reports, throughout their years of schooling at Calrossy via the Parent Portal.

There’s no time like the present, jump online and access the HUB….
