COVID-19 Updates

28 July 2021

Dear parents and guardians,

It was great to see the students back this morning and they all looked so excited to see their friends and catch up face to face.  The School Operations Guide was sent out to principal’s last night and there are few restrictions that we will have to put in place in the short term.  I apologise this information could not get out before school this morning. The restrictions that impact our school include:

  • Non-essential visitors (including parents) are not allowed on site at this time which means parents must drop off and pick up from the gates.
  • The department has recommended a return to staggered starts and finishes however after consulting with the staff and the regional office we believe that our school grounds are large enough and our numbers low enough that parents can social distance while dropping and picking up students from the gates. Please be mindful of the 1.5m metre rule for social distancing during these times and adhere to mandatory face mask rules.  For Prep parents, both Katie and Steph will be at the top gate from 8:45am to help with any students struggling to transition.

Other relevant information for you includes the following:

  • Playgrounds remain open for school use and can be made available for community use out of school hours.
  • Drinking fountains can remain open.
  • Community groups are not permitted to use school facilities during school hours (indoor or outdoor). When used outside of school hours, a density limit of 1 person per 4 square meters must be applied to the spaces used.
  • School tours should not be conducted on-site for prospective students and their families at this time.
  • Incursions are not permitted at this time.
  • Excursions are permitted with students from a single school only.
  • Non-essential meetings, and all school events, gatherings and assemblies should be deferred or held remotely.
  • Kinder to prep and Year 6 to Year 7 transition programs are not permitted at this time.
  • If onsite for any reason, face masks are mandatory as is check-in via QR Codes.
  • The bus service will continue to operate as usual.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adjust and implement changes to the school’s operation after this lockdown.  While these rules are necessary for our health and safety, we appreciate that the constant changes are challenging for families.

Take care,
