Wellbeing Report

Students at our college have participated in a number of Wellbeing programs this term. The focus for this Newsletter is on the Contender Program and Art Therapy.

Chin-Up Project

Wellbeing staff, in partnership with the Chin Up project have been running a small group program called ‘The Contender Program’. This program has run once a week for Term 2. The group consisted of 11 year 10 and 11 male students.

The program includes group discussions, small group work and a large component of self-reflection. The aim of the program is to help students develop fundamental skills on how to effectively deal with difficult situations in a mindful manner. The program will also help students build self-worth, self-belief and positive vision for the future with an overall aim to help them engage positively within the school and wider community.

This program will be running term 3 and 4 engaging with a range of male students in year 7, 8 and 9. We are really excited for this opportunity for our students to engage with and gain invaluable opportunities to grow and learn.

Art Therapy

Wellbeing staff, Carly Young and Deb Shepherd open the Wellbeing Centre every second Tuesday at lunchtime, for students to participate in Art Therapy classes. It allows students to have a relaxing environment, make connections and express themselves through art.
