Oracy for Knowledge

This week as part of their literacy studies the 11Y VCAL students delivered their Oracy for Knowledge task to a group of Year 7 students. Their task was to deliver information to a junior audience on ‘How to Be Safe Online.’ 11Y students prepared presentations involving a combination of graphics, information, video and their own scripts guiding students through how to be safe online and what to be aware of in this digital age when using technology. It was a great opportunity for Year 11 students to develop confidence in speaking to different audiences and purposes and they all enjoyed this challenge (despite feeling initially very nervous) and presenting this task. Ms Rivera’s Year 7 Italian class were the students who participated and they were well behaved, encouraging, respectful and eager to learn, the perfect audience!! It was great to see Year 11 and Year 7 students interacting positively and the Year 7 students all reported feeling more knowledgeable after the presentations. We thank them for allowing Year 11Y into their Italian class. A big thank you to Ms Rivera and Edna Cruz for preparing the 11Y students so well with this Outcome as part of their Literacy Studies with her this year.

Well done to all involved!
