MEALS FOR THE HILLS

Thursday 24 June

The devastating storm that hit Melbourne in June, impacted the community – including students and staff at Lilydale High School.

In doing our part to help, staff donated ingredients, and in conjunction with Naomi Smith, I organised the preparation, cooking and distribution of over 120 meals.

Thank you to Sabrina Solomons and Liz Honey for their help in cutting what felt like a million onions.

Sharyn Rattan, Bailey Condon and Mitch McMaster were monumental in helping for the entire day – I couldn’t have done it without them.

Also, a huge thank you to the Wellbeing Team and their minions for helping with the washing and packing up at the end of the day as well as Wendy Powson, for allowing us to take on this challenge during school time.

We hope those impacted by the storms were able to enjoy a nutritious and well-intentioned meal while waiting for their power to be restored.

Great spirit, Lilydale High School!
