Aussie of the Month

As this is our final newsletter of this term, we would like to congratulate our Aussies of the Month for May and June.

It is with great pleasure that we announce our Aussie of the Month for May as Arshiya Raheja in Year 4. Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Arshiya, you continue to demonstrate respectful behaviour which has been recognised by many of our educators, well done!

We'd also like to congratulate Anthony Martino in Year 6, who is our Aussie of the Month for June. Anthony will receive his certificate at our final assembly on Thursday.

Some of our educator and student testimonials...

Arshiya consistently demonstrates the school's values and keys to success. She is a terrific group member who goes out of her way to help others. Arshiya takes pride in her work, is willing to take on any challenge and treats peers and teachers with respect. She is a caring and honest person who goes above and beyond for all. Well done Arshiya.
Mr Clayton
Arshiya is respectful towards teachers and her peers and tries her very best in all learning areas. She responds to feedback and supports others to be successful. She is a pleasure to have in class, always entering learning spaces with a smile.
Mrs Byrnes
Arshiya is a very kind and supportive friend. She tries her hardest when she does her work, and she helps others around her. When someone is upset, she will always run up to the student and ask them if they are okay, showing care and concern for others.
Makayla

Anthony is a kind and respectful member of the school community. He displays care and concern for all and takes pride in everything that he does. He is a delight to have in Fisher and sets a great example for other students. We are all so proud of you!
Miss Sonja/Miss Moore

Anthony is a kind, friendly and courteous student, always stopping for a chat in the yard to reconnect. He shows respect for all peers and adults and sets a high standard for all of our LNPS Seniors to aspire to. He is a dependable volunteer for many jobs around the school, working hard to 'give back' to our school community. Go Anthony!
Miss Perkas

Anthony is always a respectful student, who cares for others and is a role model to all. He follows all of the school values and never gives up when doing work. He always does the best he can and makes the right decisions.

It is so important that we continue to highlight these positive role-models that we have at Lockleys North - well done to all our Aussies of the Month during Semester 1!

Team Points

Throughout the semester students have been receiving Team Points for their Sports Day teams. The points totals are for all collated points up to the end of June. A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to all teams for gathering a huge amount of points during the first semester and for consistently following our school values - Respect, Care & Concern, Honesty and Pursuit of Excellence.

It is Grallina currently leading the way...

...however every team continues to be in with a shout of being 2021's Team of the Year!

NEW Team Hats

Being sun safe is an essential skill which our students are expected to promote and model at Lockleys North Primary. It is expected that all students wear their hat at recess, lunch and have it available for fitness and Physical Education learning.

For many years, students and their families have purchased and worn our navy blue hats. This year, as an exciting new adventure, we will continue to ‘Build Connectedness to LNPS’ and our Sports Day Teams - Brian (Blue), Grallina (Green), Malurus (Yellow) and Pierson (Red) by introducing a new optional school hat with the current navy hat to be phased out from 2022.

The new school hats will be navy and will have a reversible Team Colour, which will support our Team Points and positive behaviour rewards as well as enabling our students to make connections with others in the yard and oval to continue to establish our community.

The cost for the new reversible hats will be $15 and these can be purchased directly from the Uniform Shop on Mondays 8:15-9:15 am and Wednesdays 3:00-4:00 pm. We know you will continue to support us in building our community.

Sports Day T-Shirts continue to be available from the Uniform Shop and are priced at $18.

New Beginnings

It is with great pride that I write my final article for Wellbeing and Engagement. I'd like to thank our community for their continued support during the last 18 months.

I'd like to personally wish Nik Skrob every success as he embarks on our new role of Assistant Principal for Wellbeing and Learning Support. He brings a wealth of experience to the position and I know you'll give him a warm Lockleys North welcome.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Mike
