Marni Naa Pudni

As another very busy and successful term comes to an end. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the LNPS staff and students on completing a very busy but successful first semester of 2021.

COVID

As you would be aware the situation with COVID has intensified due to the situation in other states. Yesterday a number of new restrictions were put in place to help prevent the spread of the Delta strain of COVID-19 should it make its way into South Australia. While there's currently no community transmission of COVID-19 in South Australia, it's important we remain prepared to respond to the fast changing nature of the pandemic.

We will continue to follow the advice from SA Health and Directions set by SAPOL when making decisions at LNPS.

A friendly reminder to our families that access to classrooms and indoor spaces (e.g. gym) is restricted unless an appointment has been made. When attending appointments parents/caregivers need to sign in and out through the Front Office and scan in using the COVID Safe Check-in at each building.

In regards to assembly on Thursday, we are able to continue as per normal using our current structures.

We remind all parents/caregivers to socially distance at all times when on the school grounds.

Staffing

We have a few staffing updates starting next term.

  • Amy Loprete will continue in M3 until the end of the year on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Maddie Moore will continue in F13 until the end of the year.
  • Mike Tarleton is on leave for the first 5 weeks of term. Nik Skrob (new Assistant Principal) will be teaching in F12 on Monday and Tuesday and Amy Loprete on Wednesday to Friday.
  • Voula Pagonis will continue in M4 on Monday and in Early Years Science and Learning Support on Tuesday.
  • Ash Bruorton will continue in Learning Support R-7.

We are really excited to have all these wonderful teachers back at LNPS.

Pupil Free Day

A PFD was scheduled for Friday of Week 3 next term (6th August). Due to the business of Term 3 and ongoing professional learning commitments by teachers, the PFD will need to shift  to Term 4.  It is looking like it will be late in the term because of how busy the calendar already is. The date will be confirmed at the Week 3 Governing Council Meeting and communicated to the community once it is confirmed.

Digital Technologies Policy

The Department for Education recently changed the policy regarding mobile phones in primary schools. From next term mobile phones are not to be used at any time in primary schools by students.

Students who bring mobile phones need to have them turned off and always kept out of plain sight in bags.  Consequences for the use of phones shall be in accordance with the school Behaviour Education Policy. Please see the attached policy for further details.
