Student Services : Wellbeing

We’re back with a smize

Yes, our masks are on, but we can tell that there were smiles beneath them when students returned to onsite learning last week.

What a year it has been – as always, we have been so impressed by the grit and integrity of the NHS community. Of course, lockdowns do take their toll on students, if you’ve found this latest one tough, please reach out to a member of the Student Wellbeing team.

Groups are up and running

The Student Wellbeing team are so happy to be back on site, as it means a return to some of our favourite, and most important activities – supporting our students. This term we have a number of programs up and running, including the ICAN and Raise Mentoring programs, Chill Skills for students who experience anxiety and, coming soon, Love Bites for students in Year 10 which supports our Respectful Relationships Whole School program.

Helpful resources when things get tough

It's certainly a bit of a buzzword in the mental health space, but that’s for a good reason – Mindfulness can help deal with the pressures of everyday life, and can help with concentration, stress and sleep.

Journaling is another great way to stay grounded, relaxed and in tune with your emotions. Check out this great, free, resource and see if journaling is a good fit for you!

As always, you can pop in to M11 (the Student Services office) any time. Families are welcome to contact us on 9488 2321 or reach out to you child’s Student Wellbeing Coordinator.
