Professional Learning Day

Information for families

As previously communicated, we were planning on holding a professional learning day for staff on Tuesday in Week 8. Now that the day of the General Achievement Test (GAT) has been rescheduled to week 8 we have decided to minimise the disruption to students by moving our professional learning day from the Tuesday to the Thursday 12 August to coincide with the GAT.  

This means Thursday 12 August is a student free day with no scheduled classes. Students who are sitting the GAT will be the only students onsite on this day. Full details of the GAT are included later in the newsletter, but a reminder that students sitting the GAT should arrive to school at 9.30am. The seating plan will be released by the Sub School once the guidelines for the GAT are received by VCAA. 

The staff professional learning and planning day is an important opportunity for our staff to collaborate on curriculum and to support our transition to the Microsoft 365 platform. Another important factor of the day is staff wellbeing, and we will be hearing from Smiling Minds around how to practice mindfulness and self-care
