Technology

Food, Textiles & Agriculture

Students certainly made the most of a short week at the beginning of Term 3 in Technology.

Foundation, Year 1 & 2 Food

Foundation, Year 1 and 2 students have been learning about the importance of personal hygiene and food safety. They have predicted that the door handle will have the most germs in the kitchen. The students will share the results with you in the next newsletters.

Students also used their safe knife skills to create their own colourful fruit skewer.

Year 7 Food Technology

The Year 7’s produced delicious ANZAC biscuits in their first production this year.

Students have been focussing on their measuring skills and following a recipe.

This week students prepared Chicken and Vegetable Stir-Fry, which saw them develop their knife skills to prepare their vegetables in a variety of ways as well as using a wok to cook their food.

Grow Cook Sell Elective

This semester students will be participating in the inaugural elective Grow Cook Sell. Students will take seasonal produce grown in the school garden and create dishes to sell to the wider school community.

With a surplus of mandarins and lemons, students made Mandarin Butterfly Muffins and Portuguese Lemon Tarts.
