Mark the date for the next Sci-Flicks at the Belgrave, this coming Sat 22nd Oct at 2.10 pm...

We will be screening the awesome animated comedy-drama Ratatouille, with a talk and Q+A from none other than UNE food scientist and microbiologist Dr Gal Winter. Gal says this is her ALL-TIME favourite film. Gal's work is at the intersection of science, culture, wellbeing and mental health and she says that that Ratatouille perfectly shows how all these seemingly disparate things are connected Admission is only $10 and we have also arranged for a FREE POPCORN with every ticket! So, bring the family down and make sure to cook up some tricky food, fermentation and microbiology-related questions for Gal!

Operation Christmas Child

The Samaritans run an international Christmas drive called Operation Christmas Child, where people can pack a shoebox full of toys to be given to a disadvantaged child for Christmas. The boxes go all over the world to help spread joy and the love of Jesus to those in need and I thought this would be a good thing to share with the school.

Our local collection place is at Koorong at 120 Rusden street. They are accepting the Christmas Child donations from today until the 31st of October. Their open hours are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 9am12.30pm.
