RAID Yr 9 Program

RAID - Respect, Achievement, Innovation, Diversity

This week in RAID, year 9s spent the day in the school, doing a variety of activities.

Groups got together to watch a documentary about worker’s rights, showing the example of the 50 day nurses strike that happened in Melbourne in 1986.

We then did Archery in the gym, where we learnt to shoot a bow and used foam arrows to play some games, working on our aim and swiftness all in the middle of a fun battle.

We all also played wheelchair basketball, learning skills to move around quickly and pick up and throw the ball efficiently during the game. You’d be surprised by how difficult it is!

We were let out into town for lunch, where everyone was on their best behaviour while we got some much needed food after a very tiring day.
