It can be an exciting time finishing school and beginning a new chapter, however it's easy to feel a little overwhelmed when you are faced with lots of changes.  The Individual Needs Department has collated some resources that may prove to be usual, both for students and parents, in an endeavor to support our students and families.

This website provides loads of videos of personal stories, practical strategies and link to some great resources to help you make your way.  The website covers topics such as Study, Work, Social Life, Becoming Independent, Health, Advocacy & Disclosure and Funding & Legal.  Each subject is divided into information for Young People and Parents.

 

School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) is an NDIS initiative for students in Year 12 that offers individualized support for up to 2 years after finishing year 12 to help them get ready for work and plan their pathway to employment, Visit https://www.ndis.gov.au/people-disability/sles for more information.

 

Broaden Your Horizons provides a wide range of information that can help young people with disability, their families/carers and other professionals prepare for life after school.

Brimbank Local Learning & Employment Network for a range of local organisations that are able to provide advice and support, including Centrelink, National Disability Coordination Officer and various support agencies.
