Year 7 Winter Sleep Out

The Junior Sub-School held a Winter Sleep out on Friday 4 September to Saturday 5 September, where Year 7 students were invited to sleep at the College in order to help raise awareness and funds for Australia’s homeless people.

Year 7 students were buzzing with enthusiasm as they entered the Science Centre at 5:30 in the afternoon, laden with their sleeping bags, pillows, snacks and overnight packs.

The students played skittles at dusk, participated in an “old fashioned” dance off, shared a pizza dinner and competed in a limbo and trivia contest. They also enjoyed the rewards of a treasure hunt, while relaxing in the late evening by watching a movie in their onesies/pyjamas.

The students should be commended on bringing along their “positive attitude” and for participating in such an enjoyable event. The students raised at total of $65.00 which will go to Mission Australia to help people in need secure jobs, receive an education, find housing and develop life skills.

A special thank you to the Year 12 VCAL students; Anja, Johnny, Tea and Steven who planned and organised the evening activities.
